We are privileged to have the support of our amazing community. Support that helps us deliver research and projects into aged care and make a difference in the lives of people. Our research institute continually launches new projects.

Connecting Communities to Care

Bringing together support services enabling older Australians with chronic health conditions improve their holistic wellbeing, this program encourages behavioural change and builds social connection which address the major public health concerns of social isolation, loneliness and depressive symptoms.

Let’s Dig In

A therapeutic horticulture program that focuses on increasing participants’ physical activity, social interactions and emotional wellbeing. This program uses selected plants to stimulate the senses of sight, touch, smell and taste. This program is proudly supported by Perpetual.

Being your best

These community sessions include physical mobility and exercises to help address the effects of fragility. They have been co-designed to provide nutrition support, cognitive stimulation and social support. This project was supported by the Australian Government’s Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) as part of the Rapid Applied Research Translation program through Monash Partners.

HOW-R-U?

Aiming to reduce isolation and loneliness in older Australians, this program partners volunteers with older Australian to have weekly conversations and lift their moods. This program is proudly supported by the NSW Government Combatting Social Isolation for Seniors during COVID-19 Grant Program; Perpetual; Better Care Victoria Innovation Fund.

POWER

POWER connects women aged over 55 with community projects, encouraging their independence and connection. Through this program these women help others in their local area with a range of activities including driving, exercise and household tasks. This program is proudly supported by The Felton Bequest.

Homeless Persons Program

“The Homeless Persons Program provides assistance for the payment of prescription and over the counter medication, food vouchers and taxi vouchers for our clients around Melbourne. The program also provides a platform to engage and address health concerns. The program relies on grant funding to provide these important resources.
