Farm Day brings joy at Fernhill

Residents at Bolton Clarke’s Fernhill community enjoyed a close encounter with farm animals including pigs, goats and chickens at the community’s Farm Day this week.

There were smiles all round as the baby animals brought back memories of life on the farm for some and gave others the opportunity for new experiences.

“I’m not really brave when it comes to animals, but this experience was amazing,” resident Peter Hughes said.

“I had the animal come out to me I got to feed it and it was so soft to touch – I loved it!”

Lifestyle co-ordinator Nick Neumann said the day was a great success, with smiles and giggles all round.

“It was a beautiful day and the residents particularly enjoyed the piglets that were just three weeks old, and the one-week old baby goat,” he said.
