Getting involved

in research

At Bolton Clarke, we want to work with you to improve the care and services we provide. Taking part in research is your chance to tell us about yourself, what’s working well, and what could be better. You might help design new programs to meet your needs or try out new services.

Taking part in research

We make sure that clients, residents, families, carers, staff, and community members can take part safely.

By volunteering to be involved in research you can:

  • Help us understand the experience of older people
  • Take a more active role in your healthcare
  • Be heard and have your opinion valued
  • Help others and those in the future

Being a research participant

What does this involve?

Taking part in research is different for each research study.
You may be involved in:

  • Working with researchers to design studies and programs to better meet your needs
  • Trying a new program or service, like social support or exercise
  • Talking to our researchers about your experiences through interviews or focus groups.
  • Filling out a survey
  • Testing new devices or technologies
