Retirement living residents welcome a fresh space

This week two Queensland Bolton Clarke retirement villages have had a spring facelift, officially opening freshly renovated community halls and inspiring residents to get involved in new social activities.
Sapphire retirement village in Hervey Bay and Milford Grange in Ipswich welcomed residents back into their community spaces to celebrate with grand opening events.
Both villages now have a dedicated library and computer space, games room with billiards and darts, as well as a brand-new kitchen and dining area.
Bolton Clarke Milford Grange retirement village manager Marcia said the upgrades have been excitedly welcomed by the Ipswich residents.
“We really needed a fresh space for residents to come together more often and the plans were made in consultation with residents who wanted a bigger, more open kitchen and a space to play darts and pool.
“Everyone’s just ecstatic to have the new space officially open now.
“There are plans for a men’s group, pool, darts, coffee club and plenty of happy hours – residents are starting to fill the calendar already!”
Milford Grange resident Kevin said the upgrades have inspired residents to start planning new activities.
“The technology they have introduced will be very useful as many of us will put something on the TV and watch it with morning tea, or hold different educational presentations.
“I’ve never played pool or billiards so now will be a good opportunity to learn!”
The purpose-built spaces provide additional features including Bluetooth audio technology to support those residents who live with hearing loss.
