A Pinjarra Hills aged care home has welcomed a new in-house own café, bringing residents and guests a space to come and relax over a coffee.

The Fairview Brew officially opened on Wednesday at Bolton Clarke’s co-located Fairview residential aged care and retirement village.

Resident Ethel, 102, says the community has been eagerly awaiting the café opening.

“I think it’s great, I am amazed how well the team have done setting everything up,” Ethel said.

“There has been a lot of excitement from residents waiting for everything to open – there are lots of spots for us to sit and relax around the home, but this will be another great spot.

“I’m really looking forward to bringing my family down when they visit now – I know my granddaughter will love it.

“A few of my friends from the retirement village came down today and they are already talking about coming down when it’s next open.

“I used to live in the village for 23 years and I have been living here in the home for nine months and the staff here are just lovely.”

Operations Manager Noku says the team knew they wanted to bring the highly requested café space to life.

“It’s been about 12-months in the making from the initial conversations and we had to find a spot that worked for visitors and residents,” Noku said.

“We are so happy with how everything has turned out and the feedback from residents so far has been great.”

The café will be open to residents on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30an to 1:30pm with plans already in place to expand opening hours.
