CapellaBay celebrates 10 years of care in Capalaba

Bolton Clarke CapellaBay aged care home has marked 10 years of care, welcoming resident and families to celebrate the milestone.

Since opening its doors in 2015, the home has become an integral part of the Capalaba community over the past decade supporting older people from around the Redlands.

CapellaBay General Manager Scott says the celebration was a wonderful opportunity to bring together the community, including some of the home’s longest standing residents and team members.

“As a manager of an aged care home, it’s so important to celebrate these milestones and bring meaningful memories for our residents and their families,” Scott said.

“We had babies all the way up to centenarians celebrating and enjoying the day which was really special to watch.

“Many of our residents had worked on a mosaic mural in the courtyard and had the opportunity to showcase that wonderful work to the community as well.”

Shirley has called CapellaBay home for nine of its 10 years.

“It hasn’t felt like nine years that I’ve been here – the time has gone by so fast,” Shirley said.

“I was a nurse for many years so I know what great care looks like, and the team here are fantastic - they have so much respect for me and the other residents and nothing is ever too much for them.

“It was a lovely day to celebrate the anniversary and I was joined by my own family for it as well.”
