Respite care

Delivering ongoing care while carers recharge

Supporting the health and wellbeing of carers means better outcomes for everyone. Taking scheduled breaks through respite care gives carers a chance to support their own physical and mental health, access important information and support and maintain important relationships.

Our specialised teams offer flexible respite care options and work to meet your needs, ensuring quality care is delivered anytime carers need time away.

Our approach

Whether it's arranging help quickly in an emergency or supporting regular short breaks, we work with carers to provide the right respite care options to meet your needs and those of your loved one.

We can provide respite services in the comfort of your home and through many of our residential aged care communities.

Our communities offer great amenities, social activities and nutritious quality meals in addition to the outstanding clinical care provided by our specialised teams.

Types of respite care

Your local team can help you understand which service is best suited to your needs. Based on the level of care approved with your Aged Care assessment, we can offer the following types of respite care:

In-home respite. We arrange for one of our Home and Community Support carers to be with you at home or take you out while your carer has a break.

Centre-based day respite. Allows clients to live at home while accessing support during the day at one of our centres.

Short-stay, residential and emergency respite. Clients stay overnight at a Bolton Clarke residential aged care community, with a private room and full access to all services and amenities. Care is available on a flexible basis to meet your needs, whether that’s a short stay, a month or longer.
