Bolton Clarke Commemorates ANZAC Day

Bolton Clarke has commemorated ANZAC Day 2019 with veteran clients, residents and community members at services held around Australia.

In Townsville, 102-year-old veteran resident Colin Fulford read the Ode at a service that brought together residents of our Glendale and Rowes Bay communities with a strong contingent of community members.

Fellow resident and RAAF veteran Thomas Campbell joined the ANZAC Day march through the streets of Townsville in the Bolton Clarke Trishaw.

Meanwhile in Bundaberg the Fairways community held a service in honour of the 2019 theme of ANZAC Day, Australian Nurses at War. Resident Myra Pearce dressed in a uniform donated from the Bundaberg Red Cross and read the Ode.

“The service was well attended and brought together residential aged care and retirement living residents,” said Retirement Village Manager Jude Riley.

“We were honoured to have the services of a bagpiper who is a member of the Bundaberg Caledonian Pipe Band – he added to the mood of the service by playing prior to the Ceremony, as well as during the ceremony with a rendition of The Lament.”

At Cazna Gardens in Sunnybank Hills the residents gathered for a moving Dawn Service attended by Sunnybank RSL, local cadets and the wider community.

Services were held at Bolton Clarke communities across Queensland and New South Wales. The organisation also hosted a series of conversation circles with ex-service personnel across its communities in the approach to Anzac Day, in collaboration with the Veterans Care Association and the Women Veterans Network Australia.
