The residents of the Inverpine residential community at Murrumba Downs have had a special Christmas treat this week with a visit from Santa Claus.
Each year the site comes together to celebrate Christmas with a special concert featuring live music, skits and dress ups where residents can enjoy classic Christmas carols, dancing, comedy performances and a special morning tea.
Activities Officer, Rekha Singh said this time of year is very special for the residents and the team members go to extra effort to make the site look and feel magical with Christmas trees and decorations up everywhere.
“The team members take the extra time to dress up and decorate the site, much to the joy of our residents. Our Maintenance Officer Norm Holmes enjoys dressing up as Santa Claus and handing out gifts to the residents each year and they absolutely love it.
“Our volunteers also go above and beyond helping us make the Christmas parties special, we even have one volunteer who dresses up as Mrs Claus who helps Santa hand out gifts.
“This year we were also lucky enough to have some Christmas elves from Traditional Funerals who assisted Santa in handing out gifts and gave each resident a beautiful Christmas Tree decoration.”
The Inverpine community will continue to celebrate Christmas with more parties planned for the rest of the week.
