Fernhill Celebrates Australia Day

Clients and residents at Bolton Clarke’s Fernhill residential community in Caboolture, Queensland celebrated Australia Day with a concert and some classic Australian fare.

Team members from Fernhill’s At Home Support services, residential aged care and retirement living communities co-ordinated efforts to ensure everyone could enjoy the fun.

Day Therapy Centre Diversional Therapist Alma Massie said the event was a real team effort.

“Australia Day is a very special day for our residents and clients. Everyone has a wonderful time – they look forward to this every year,” she said.

Day Therapy Centre client Pat Jordan said she had a wonderful time dancing on the day.

“Coming to an event like this isn’t something I get the opportunity to do very often so I have really enjoyed myself today. The team has gone to such a wonderful effort to dress up and make us feel very festive,” she said.

The event featured live music from band “Second Chance” who got the crowd into the groove with classic Aussie anthems and fun dances including the chicken dance – there was even a conga line.

Classic Australian treats were served up including lamingtons, sausage rolls and meat pies plus a raffle at the end with prizes.
