Residents of the Fernhill residential community in Caboolture have been treated to a beautiful Christmas lunch this week with family and friends invited along to celebrate.
The team at the Fernhill community have been hard at work this week putting on three Christmas parties catering to each area with special consideration of resident needs and tastes.
Diversional Therapist Ashleigh Jones said the parties were a great way for residents to have a Christmas lunch and families were welcome to attend as well.
“Nursing Home, Hostel and Special Care Unit were each treated to an individual Christmas party which included a gourmet lunch of ham, seafood, salads and even pavlovas,” she said.
“Second and even third helpings proved extremely popular, no one has gone hungry.”
The residential aged care site will continue their celebrations with a Carols by Candlelight concert and a bus trip to look at Christmas Lights next week. Meanwhile clients of the Day Therapy Centre at Fernhill celebrated Christmas with a special concert and morning tea featuring live music, plenty of dancing, lucky door prizes and delicious food.
The concert is just one activity in a full social calendar of events for the Day Therapy Centre respite clients who will be treated to another Christmas morning tea next week.
Diversional Therapist, Alma Massie and her team always go to a great deal of effort to ensure all the clients have a fantastic time.
“The team members and volunteers love this time of year, we always dress up, decorate the centre and make sure we have everyone’s favourite foods,” she said.
“We do what we can to make it special for them, it’s our way of saying thank you for a wonderful year together.”
The Day Therapy Centre will continue their Christmas celebrations with clients next week with more festivities to come.
